The last Friday of each month, celebrate downtown Bellefonte’s shopping, dining, arts and craft beverages during our new event, Friday in the ‘Fonte! Because of the stay-at-home order, Downtown Bellefonte Inc. is holding a very special VIRTUAL Friday in the ‘Fonte on April 24. Bellefonte businesses are offering some fun “virtual” treats for you all! Enjoy our wonderful Bellefonte businesses from the comfort of your home!

Big Spring Spirits

If you’re running out of food or booze during your coronavirus isolation, then Big Spring Spirits has got your back. They offer local delivery, free shipping within PA, and curbside pickup when you order online. This Friday they will have Rosie’s Pierogies and BBQ by Clem food trucks serving up food outside the distillery from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m

 

Bellefonte Art Museum

Just because you can’t visit BAM in person doesn’t mean you can’t immerse yourself in local art. BAM has been providing many virtual opportunities to engage with the museum and their local artists on their Facebook page. This Friday around 4 p.m., Lori Fisher will do a virtual closing tour of their “Celebrating Our Women of Achievement” show. Come join the tour on Facebook!

Summers Martial Arts

Have you always wanted to try martial arts? Here’s your chance to experience martial arts from the comfort of your home! Summer Martial Arts will be hosting a free introductory Tang Soo Do class on their Youtube channel. The class is suitable for kids and adults, so the whole family can join in! Also, if you mention the special Friday in the ‘Fonte class and DBI you’ll get 50% off your first month when they re-open!

 

Bellefonte Bed & Breakfast & Local Historia

Matt Maris, local historian and owner of Local Historia along with Phil & Kathy Breidenbaugh from the Bellefonte Bed and Breakfast are hosting a Virtual Trivia challenge this Friday night on Zoom. The challenge will include interesting and unique local Bellefonte trivia along with a few questions that will test your knowledge about Penn State. 

You are invited to test your trivia knowledge (and typing speed) in a Zoom style contest during one of two sessions planned for Friday at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm. If you would like to participate please contact Matt at matt.localhistoria@gmail.com or Phil at bellefontebnb@gmail.com by noon on Friday with your time slot preference (7pm or 8 pm) and email to be used in the Zoom invite. A separate email with the Zoom meeting invite will be sent to the email specified for the desired time slot. A gift certificate to our newest Bellefonte restaurant, Happy Wraps, will be given out in each session.

 

The Governors’ Pub

Your local pub is still serving up food for takeout. Friday will include specials on foods, and as always, the full menu is available. Order online to get delicious food to go.

 

FaithCentre Food Bank

If you’re missing shopping at our local Thrift Store, then check out their “SuPrize” shopping promotion on their website. Fill out the form with information such as age, gender, and sizes of clothes you’re looking for, with a space to put any special requests. Then make a donation of your choosing to the FaithCentre and receive a “SuPrize” shipment!

 

The Queen, A Victorian Bed and Breakfast

Even if you can’t stay in the beautiful Queen B&B, you can still shop there! See their online shop for lots of goodies, ranging from comfy sheet sets and delectable treats. Centre County United Way – #LIVEUNITEDLive

Centre County United Way will present a Facebook Live event on Friday, April 24, to benefit the 28 partner agencies supporting Centre County residents with needs related to education, financial stability and health.

#LIVEUNITEDLive will begin at 6 p.m. on April 24 featuring 25 performers from bands with ties to Centre County. All will be performing from their homes or spaces where they can practice physical distancing. Well-known State College radio personality Jeff Brown, who served as the honorary chair for the most recent United Way campaign, will host the online concert.
