The last Friday of each month, celebrate downtown Bellefonte’s shopping, dining, arts and craft beverages during Friday in the ‘Fonte! This month, we’re showcasing businesses that have reopened their stores or are doing special promotions. Enjoy our wonderful Bellefonte businesses by patronizing them safely (masks on!) or from the comfort of your home!

Big Spring Spirits

Store Hours: Curbside pickup hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Our favorite local distillery is still busy selling spirits, bottled ready-to-drink cocktails, and hand sanitizer! Order online and choose curbside pickup, free local delivery, or $5 shipping anywhere in PA. 

All revenue generated from the sale of hand sanitizer will be donated to the Bellefonte YMCA and The FaithCentre to support their mission to feed those in need in our community.

Bellefonte Art Museum

Just because you can’t visit BAM in person doesn’t mean you can’t immerse yourself in local art. BAM has been providing many virtual opportunities to engage with the museum and their local artists. Currently, BAM has several projects for the community to participate in, such as the C19 Photo Project and Chalk Party! Check out their Facebook page for more information. 

 

The Cakery

Whether you like cakes, cupcakes, pies, bread, scones, or some other sweet treat, The Cakery will most certainly meet your needs! While the store may not be open, you can still email for custom orders for contactless porch pick up, or you can snag some of their freshly baked goods at Maine Bay & Berry in Lemont. Beginning May 19, The Cakery scones will be available at Bonfatto’s Italian Market & Cafe! Make sure to visit their Instagram and Facebook page to see the latest Cakery creations!

 

Jabebo Studio

Store Hours: Open by chance or by appointment. If you are out walking around, stop by and see if there is someone here or call ahead and they’ll make sure someone is in the store!

Although their website is set up for wholesale customers, if you see earrings you like, just give them a call and they can arrange to have your earrings ready for contact-less pickup! You can also purchase earrings through their Etsy page.

Jabebo’s earring are made out of recycled cereal boxes and are sold to hundreds of stores across the US and Canada! They are always collecting cereal boxes from the community and have a drop-box on Cherry Lane across from Jim’s. You can also bring them to the store when they’re open, and if you have a big stack, just give them a call and they’ll arrange to pick them up!  

 

Juniper Studio

Welcome Juniper Studio to downtown Bellefonte! Whether you’re getting your first tattoo or you’re looking to add to your growing collection, Juniper Studio is your answer. Natalie Burkey, owner and tattoo artist, has created a space that is welcoming, inclusive, safe, and respectful for all clientele. Due to PA Governor’s orders, the studio is currently closed, but you can purchase a gift card now for future use. They are currently booking appointments for when the studio reopens, so schedule your appointment today!

This will be limited to 25 people, will include proper social distancing, and no contact. Because it’s difficult to practice karate with a mask, they will not be required. Both classes will be held in the lawn next to the Match Factory. Just show up and join in!
