Downtown Bellefonte Awards ceremony set for June 24 during Friday in the ‘Fonte

Friday in the ‘Fonte is here for the month of June, and on deck for the celebration are the 2022 Downtown Bellefonte Awards, celebrating community and business excellence.

The 2022 Downtown Bellefonte Award ceremony was postponed in May after a rainy forecast canceled outdoor Friday in the ‘Fonte activities. Now, on June 24, Downtown Bellefonte Inc. will recognize five individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community who have displayed growth, progress, and resilience throughout this past year during the annual awards ceremony.

Award categories include: Business of the Year Award, Volunteer of the Year Award, Renaissance Award, Award for Resilience, and the #LoveBFT Award presented by Bellefonte.com.

The awards will be presented by the Downtown Bellefonte Inc. Board of Directors starting at 6:30 p.m. during the Friday in the ‘Fonte festivities at Talleyrand Park.

Celebrating Friday in the ‘Fonte

Friday in the ‘Fonte events will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Talleyrand Park Annex next to The Match Factory. This free event will feature a live musical performance by Miss Melanie,  and food and beverage pop-ups from Savory Station, Bonnie Blues, Axemann Brewery, Big Spring Spirits, Bees Knees Coffee, Sunset Slush Happy Valley, The Cakeshop by Tati, and Good Intent Cider. Activities are planned for all ages, including a therapeutic horse from Rising Hope, balloon art, and rock painting.

While you are enjoying the live music, grab some food and drink and walk around the park to visit vendors Fez Records, Federalist Studios, Sisters’ Sunflowers, Rivera Artistry, Hannah Simon Art, Julia Hamilton Equine Art, Blackbranch Farm, and others.

Don’t forget to bring your empty cereal boxes to recycle for the Jabebo Studios Collection Bin at the DBI table at Friday in the ‘Fonte.

Local Historia will be offering free historical walking tours, Felicity’s Pet Supplies will be set up with treats for your furry friends, and Belle Mercantile will have a pop-up with a sample of items to showcase various vendors from their store on South Spring Street.

Bellefonte.com, Blink, and Stuckey Ford Bellefonte are this year’s sponsors for the Friday in the ‘Fonte 2022 Summer Series.

Be sure to check out the specials from downtown businesses and restaurants. Many of these businesses and organizations are participating in the 2022 Discovery Passport, an initiative of Downtown Bellefonte Inc. to encourage local shopping and dining. Visit the DBI table during Friday in the ‘Fonte or the DBI booth inside Belle Mercantile to purchase your passport.
